Help & support
How can we help?
Most questions are answered below. For anything else, email hello@scratchcircle.com and tell us your phone model and what you were doing.
Filming and analysis
How should I film my swing?
Phone upright on a tripod or propped against a bag, 6–12 feet away at waist height, whole body and club in the frame, light behind the camera. Press record, step into place, stand still for a second, then swing and hold your finish. See the full tips.
Why does my result say tempo is unavailable?
The app measures tempo from the path of your hands, and shows it only when the hands confirm the swing. If the phone moved, you were small in the picture, the light was poor, or there was more than one swing in the clip, we hold the number back instead of guessing. Filming again with the tips above usually fixes it.
My video is slow-motion but the app says it is normal speed.
A slow-mo video that has been shared, exported or trimmed is often flattened back to normal speed. On iPhone, use Record in the app, or upload the original from your photo library.
The result looks wrong. What can I do?
Tap “Something look off?” on the result and mark the checkpoints yourself. You can also email us the video and what looked wrong.
Does the Launch Monitor work on Android?
Scratch Circle launches on iPhone first. The Launch Monitor and the in-app swing recorder are on iPhone, and an Android version is planned.
Focus Plan and Player Card
How does a Focus Plan work?
After an analysis that finds something worth fixing, the app offers a 2-week plan for that one thing. You choose 2 to 4 sessions a week. Each is about 25 minutes and 40 to 45 balls. At the end of each week, hit 5 balls on the Launch Monitor or film your swing. Only a film check can clear your Focus, and it takes two good ones in a row. If it has not cleared, the plan adds up to two weeks with a different drill and then suggests asking a coach.
What is free in a Focus Plan?
Week 1 is free on every plan. Your first film check is free once per account and does not use your monthly swing review. A Launch Monitor check in week 1 is free too. After that, a check counts against your monthly allowance. Weeks 2 and on come with Birdie and up.
What counts as a Launch Monitor session?
A day on which the Launch Monitor tracks at least one shot. Hit as many shots and clubs as you like that day: it is one session. If you are offline at the range, the session is counted the next time the app connects.
Why did my reminder not arrive?
Reminders are set on your phone, so they need the installed app, not the web version. Turn reminders on in your plan, and allow notifications for Scratch Circle in your phone’s settings.
Is my plan saved if I change phone?
Not yet. Your Focus Plan, badges and handle live on your phone only, so they are lost if you delete the app or switch phones. Your swing history and Launch Monitor shots are saved to your account when you are signed in.
Why is a drill locked?
The library has 117 drills. Par includes 25 and Birdie includes 50, chosen from the original 75. Drills added since then come with Eagle, but any drill in your Focus Plan opens on every plan while the plan is running.
What does Verified mean on my Player Card?
It means your stats come from at least five shots tracked by your phone’s camera with that club, not from numbers typed in.
Who sees my handle and the QR code?
Only the people you share the card with. The handle you type is kept on your phone and appears on the picture you choose to share. The QR code opens scratchcircle.com.
Your account and plan
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile and choose Delete Account. This permanently erases your account and the data saved to it on our servers. See the privacy policy.
How do I cancel a paid plan?
Paid plans are billed by the App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel them in your store subscription settings. The free Par plan never expires.
I cannot sign in.
Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used the first time. If it still fails, email us with the sign-in method you used.
Where is my photo on my Player Card stored?
Only on your phone. We never upload it. Removing the photo in the card screen deletes it from the app.
